Pastoral
Our Pastoral Care Mission Statement:
‘We want to build a loving and supportive family structure of mutual care where everyone is: Accepted, Befriended and Valued.’
Broadway is culturally a warm, loving and caring Church. Much of the pastoral care and practical help happens naturally through many individuals within the church getting alongside those they meet in Church on Sundays, those with whom they meet through other Church activities during the week or those in their friendship groups. The nine House groups play a significant role in delivering pastoral care and practical help to their various members, and the offer of pastoral care is always on hand through The Well.
We have a Pastoral Care Worker (Sarah Watterson) to Co-ordinate the delivery of pastoral care and practical help within the Church; a Team trained in Pastoral Care and a Team trained in Christian Listening.
Sarah can be found during and after Sunday services wearing a badge saying ‘Pastoral Team’. During the week she is based in The Alpha Centre and can usually be found in The Well Tuesdays to Fridays 11am-2pm. On alternate Thursdays she hosts a Coffee Club – open to all - from 10.30am-12 midday.
A quiet room is available on the first floor of the Alpha Centre for Christian Listening which can be arranged by appointment.
Good communications are the key to good delivery of pastoral care. It is important to be accessible and contactable for those who might need help and we can only help if we are made aware of the need. Please do contact Sarah for any Pastoral needs either for yourself or on behalf of others if appropriate.
